NASHVILLE--Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Commissioner Greg Gonzales announced today that the maximum effective formula rate of interest in Tennessee is 12.00 percent per annum. The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 8.00 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on October 15, 2024.

On Oct. 14, at approximately 8:17 p.m. troopers were dispatched to a person lying in the emergency lane of I-40 eastbound in Roane County at the 341-mile marker. This area is approximately one mile east of exit 340, the Rockwood Municipal Airport Road exit. Upon arrival, troopers found a black female with serious injuries. Immediately Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were notified and upon their arrival, EMS transported the female to UT Medical Center.
