Energy Efficient Loan Program (FY25)
EESI staff has produced the following Energy Efficient Loan program highlights for FY2025, which includes data from July 1,2024 – June 30, 2025.
- EESI’s application period is open year-round, and projects are funded as soon as funding is available and have met the EESI technical review criteria. Since July 1, 2024, the EESI has received and approved 7 loan applications totaling $14,738, 831, which is 110% more than FY2024. This increase can be attributed to the Sunset of Federal COVID-19 relief efforts and the lack of federal grant funds allocated to Tennessee’s school districts.
- The current EESI Loan Program uses a low-interest revolving loan mechanism to fund energy efficient projects in Tennessee’s public K-12 schools. Loan interest for FY2025 totaled $505,168, which is an 8.04% decrease from FY2024.
- Principal repayments averaged $598,000 per month, which is 36% less than FY2024, and are forecasted to increase in FY2026.
