TIPTONVILLE – An organization formed by incarcerated men at the Northwest Correctional Complex (NWCX) is celebrating its 36th year of working to change lives. Prisoners Actively Involved in Community Endeavors (PAIICE) was formed in 1985 with a desire to prevent new victims.

HENNING – The West Tennessee State Penitentiary (WTSP) and Women’s Therapeutic Residential Center (WTRC) will hold a rapid hiring event next Wednesday aimed at filling vacant correctional officer (CO) positions. Last month, Governor Lee announced a 37% increase to the starting salary for CO’s – bringing annual earnings for all new officers to $44,500.

WARTBURG – An inmate who absconded from a work detail in East Tennessee and was wanted for escape will now be returned to the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) custody. Jason Copley, 44, was a minimum-trustee inmate assigned to the Morgan County Correctional Complex when he was reported missing from a work site near the facility on Saturday evening.
