Request For Proposals: Memphis/West Tennessee Smart Freight Corridor

The Passenger Transportation, Rail & Freight Division is a liaison between TDOT, public transportation, and freight stakeholders.

The Division seeks to find opportunities to both improve access for existing freight and appropriately prepare for the projected increases in freight as it moves in and out of the state, whether it is by railroad, trucking, or waterways.

On the public transportation side, the Division seeks to provide a lifeline to people throughout the state, supporting public transit in all 95 counties in Tennessee - enabling access to jobs, groceries, medical appointments, and recreational activities.

The Division encompasses three Sections - Freight and Rail Safety & Engineering, Public Transportation, and Rail Coordination, as well as a Statewide Technical Specialist.
