    Nashville- Tennessee Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III, along with the Attorneys General of 27 other States, announced a settlement with Tennessee-based CHS/Community Health Systems, Inc., and its subsidiary, CHSPSC LLC. This judgment resolves an investigation of a data breach which impacted approximately 6.1 million patients, including nearly 450,000 in Tennessee.

    Nashville, TN- Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III has joined a $39.5 million settlement with Anthem stemming from the massive 2014 data breach. Through the settlement, Anthem has reached a resolution with the 43-state coalition and California. Tennessee will receive $400,556.46 from the settlement.

    Nashville- The Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is warning consumers after receiving complaints about an alleged driveway paving scam. In one complaint, neighbors were approached by a man offering a deal on leftover material. They agreed to pay $1,500 to have a section of their driveway repaired. However, the work crew did not finish, claiming they ran out of asphalt and demanding a much higher price to finish the job.

    Nashville- Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III has secured an agreement to obtain nearly $15 million in loan forgiveness on 2,068 loans for former ITT Tech students in Tennessee. The agreement is part of a settlement with 43 attorneys general and the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

    Nashville- Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III today announced an $84 million multistate settlement with American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and Honda of America Mfg., Inc. (collectively “Honda”), over allegations Honda concealed safety issues related to defects in the frontal airbag systems installed in certain Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the United States. The systems were designed and manufactured by Takata Corporation, a long-time Honda supplier, and were first installed in Honda vehicles in the 2001 model year.

Slatery III and a bipartisan coalition of 38 attorneys general asked Google and Apple to ensure all contact tracing and exposure notification apps related to COVID-19 adequately protect consumers’ personal information. Specifically, the coalition asked Google and Apple to guarantee that such apps, when available to consumers, are affiliated with a public health authority and removed from Google Play and the App Store once no longer needed by public health authorities.

    (Nashville) – Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III joined a coalition of 50 states and the District of Columbia filing the third lawsuit stemming from an antitrust investigation into a widespread conspiracy by generic drug manufacturers to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition, and unreasonably restrain trade for generic drugs sold across the United States. This new Complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, focuses on 80 topical generic drugs that account for billions of dollars of sales in the United States. The Complaint names 26 corporate Defendants and 10 individual Defendants. The lawsuit seeks damages, civil penalties, and actions by the court to restore competition to the generic drug market.
