Job Loss reported through WARN Notices

This dashboard presents notices of business closures and layoffs which Tennessee employers have reported to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development.Employers that are reducing their workforce, conducting layoffs, or closing their businesses and have 50+ employees affected are typically required to report this information via a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.

Layoffs are identified by employers as temporary or permanent. Permanent layoffs are layoffs that will last more than six months, typically due to the position no longer existing. Temporary layoffs are layoffs in which the employer expects to recall the employee to the same or a similar position within the next six months.
