Slope Repair to Close State Route 141 in Macon & Trousdale Counties

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will conduct lane closures on a section of State Route 141 that runs through both Macon and Trousdale County.

Beginning Thursday, September 10, TDOT crews will conduct a full closure of State Route 141 from State Route 52 to Pleasant Valley Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. At the end of each workday, a temporary traffic signal will be in place to help maintain safety through the work zone.

This work is necessary for slope repair and is expected to take approximately four weeks.

This slope repair involves installing a Geosynthetic Stabilized Infrastructure (GSI) wall, allowing the guardrail to be shifted outward to restore and reclaim shoulder space. Because this route includes sharp curves and carries heavy tractor-trailer traffic, the improvements will enhance maneuverability and safety for commercial vehicles and the traveling public. Following completion of the slope repair, this section of roadway will be resurfaced in the coming months.

All work is weather-dependent. As always, drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone. The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee includes the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of $500.
