Traffic Shift Scheduled on Nolensville Pike Widening Project
Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will implement a traffic shift associated with the State Route 11 (US 31A/Nolensville Pike) widening project in Davidson County.
Beginning on Friday, May 8, contractors will begin shifting both directions of traffic onto the newly constructed lanes from near Bradford Hills Drive to Bluff Road. The existing lanes will be closed so contractors can construct the remaining new travel lanes. Motorists are urged to use caution as they navigate this new shift.
This work is part of TDOT’s Nolensville Pike (SR 11/US 31A) project in Davidson and Williamson Counties, which spans from south of Burkitt Road to near SR 254 (Old Hickory Boulevard). The project includes reconstruction and widening for approximately 4.4 miles. The proposed improvements aim to alleviate congestion, enhance safety, and accommodate growth in this rapidly developing area.
All work is weather-dependent. As always, drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone. The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee carries the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of up to $500.
Motorists can report potholes to TDOT by calling the TDOTFIX Hotline at 833-TDOTFIX or using this online form: TDOT Maintenance Request. The TDOT SmartWay Map (https://smartway.tn.gov) provides the latest construction activity traffic updates. Travelers can also call 511 for travel information.
