Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will close State Route 264 in Smith County, State Route 260 in Trousdale County, and State Route 141 in Wilson County.

Beginning Tuesday, October 21, at 7 a.m. through Wednesday, October 22, at 5 p.m., TDOT Maintenance crews will:

• Conduct a daily closure of State Route 264 (Stonewall Highway) from near Helms Bend Road/Smiths Road to State Route 53 (Cookeville Highway) in Smith County for road repair and cross-drain placement. (A previous advisory erroneously noted this closure would take place daily from Monday through Friday.)
• Conduct a daily closure of State Route 260 (Browning Branch Road) at the Highway 231 (State Route 376) intersection in Trousdale County for cross tile replacement.
• Conduct a continuous closure of State Route 141(Highway 141/Trousdale Ferry Pike) from Swindell Hollow Road to Flat Rock Road in Wilson County for subgrade repair.

A detour will be in place at all locations.

All work is weather-dependent. As always, drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone. The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee carries the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of up to $500.

Motorists can alert TDOT to potholes by calling the TDOTFIX Hotline at 833-TDOTFIX or using this online form: TDOT Maintenance Request. The TDOT SmartWay Map (https://smartway.tn.gov) provides the latest construction activity traffic updates. Travelers can also call 511 for travel information.
