WHO WE ARE
The Statewide Planning Section (SPS) is responsible for developing the plans and products that reflect the vision, direction, and goals of the Tennessee Department of Transportation, including the 25-Year State Long-Range Transportation Plan,
Corridor Management Studies, and other statewide planning initiatives that
support the department's mission.
MISSION
The mission of the SPS is to play an active role in planning transportation strategies that improve safety, increase mobility, and encourage economic development in Tennessee.
PRIMARY TASKS & OBJECTIVES
· Engage Tennessee communities to obtain public input on transportation investments and policies.
· Develop the statewide long-range transportation plan, and
· Prepare corridor studies, university research, travel data collection, feasibility studies, and metropolitan and rural transportation planning coordination.
