Wartrace Gymnasium Rehabilitation

Through general fund money, various fundraising efforts, and a generous general contractor who played in the gym in his school days, the Town of Wartrace was able to match a Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) grant and complete the renovation of an old school gymnasium. The grant was awarded in 2018 and fully completed in 2022, with renovations, including ADA-complaint bathrooms, new HVAC, interior and exterior painting, and mold remediation, that allow the gymnasium to be open year-round again after being shut down for several years. The town has hosted basketball games, open gym time, movies, and Pi Day in the renovated gym.
