Vose School House Restoration

A long interior hallway features wood floors, paneled walls, and evenly spaced light fixtures.

This Vose School Restoration was one of many projects in Federal Historic Tax incentive program responsible for over $1.5 billion investment into TN communities. This specific historic renovation consisted of renovating the four room Vose School building, first built in 1916, into a series of four – two bed/two bath apartments. Among the renovations were repairing/restoration of the windows, siding, hardwood, molding, new HVAC systems. Funded with TNECD’s Historical Development Grant, this project not only stabilized and preserved the oldest standing school in Blount County but made new use of a dormant historical asset.
