Sumner County Emergency Communications Center

A large group of people gathers outside a public building for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

In the last two decades, Sumner County experienced multiple tornados and storm disasters resulting in property destruction and losses totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. These disasters demonstrated the urgent need to consolidate emergency response services, and in 2017, the county opened the county emergency communications center. This center serves as the answering point for all 911 emergency and administrative calls in Sumner County and the dispatch point for police, fire, and emergency medical field resources. The center serves a population of over 180,000 and responds to over 47,000 emergency calls annually.
