Silver Bait LLC Three-Phase Power Improvements

Silver Bait LLC, located in Grundy County, is a sustainable worm farm that supplies bait worms across the country, along with fertilizer produced as a byproduct of the worm growing cycle. Silver Bait planned to dramatically expand operations to meet consumer demand. The company planned to double its employee base and production capacity but lacked the necessary three-phase power on-site to support expanded operations.

Working with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) and Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), Silver Bait secured two grants to fund power line upgrades to their site. A nearby company, Campbell Poultry Operations, was also able to utilize the new utility infrastructure to support operational expansion. In total, the utility infrastructure supported 28 new jobs and $6.6 million in capital investment.
