Rail Spur Serving Hargett Materials

An industrial facility contains large processing equipment, conveyor systems, and workers operating machinery indoors.

Hargett Materials, located in Milan, Tennessee, is an aggregate producer of road construction materials. The company used Delta Regional Authority and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) FastTrack grants to fund the construction of 2,100 linear feet of rail from the West Tennessee shortline railroad to the plant loading and unloading site. The rail is being used to receive raw materials as well as to ship finished products to industry partners and available water ports. Hargett Materials also invested in the construction of a 100,000 square foot manufacturing plant, and the project created new jobs.
