Perry County Sheriff’s Office New Officer Training

The Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) Tuition Assistance Program helped the Perry County Sheriff's Office have a full roster, which it had not had in a long time. Funding from the program paid for the full tuition of two new cadets to attend Basic Police School. In turn, the agency has been able to use its training budget to continue to invest in the training of its current certified officers, making the community safer for residents.
Additional Funding Information:
The Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy Tuition Assistance Program helps reduce the cost to local law enforcement agencies when a new officer is sent to the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA), and funds other training and professional development expenses. This includes three critical areas of assistance for local law enforcement agencies including paid tuition for Basic Police School, daily working uniforms and physical fitness gear, and assistance for incidental training expenses to offset ancillary costs of training new personnel.
