Jackson Energy Authority Downtown Wi-Fi Grant

In 2019, the Jackson Energy Authority was awarded a Downtown Wi-Fi grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) to provide free Wi-Fi access in downtown Jackson, TN. The grant financed equipment and construction for 25 access points in the downtown area, serving up to 2,000 people at a time. The access supports Jackson’s economic development by providing services to tourists, attracting customers, and serving local businesses and events.
