Dyersburg State Community College – Eagle Access Program

In early 2022, the first round of Tennessee Believes funding was distributed to four institutions, including Dyersburg State Community College. Dyersburg State's Eagle Access Program became the inaugural post-secondary inclusive program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a community college in Tennessee. The program is also the first of its kind in a rural county.
During the 2022-23 school year, the Eagle Access program at Dyersburg State served six students, offering a total of 11 classes. These classes encompassed various subjects, including life skills, independent living, and personalized courses tailored to each student's individual interests and abilities. In addition to academic coursework, the program provided opportunities for internships and work-based learning experiences for the participating students.
