Dandridge Dock Project

Dandridge, Tennessee, in Jefferson County, is located on the shores of Douglas Lake. Town leaders embarked on a multi-year process to develop the town’s waterfront, beginning with the development of a Waterfront Master Plan in 2015. The first step in the Master Plan was the construction of a public dock in 2017, accommodating 20 year-round boat slips, 75 summer-only boat slips, and electrical service in addition to the ADA-compliant public dock. The new dock enabled the town to build on its history of hosting professional fishing tournaments, drawing larger tournaments during a larger portion of the year. This project was funded through a combination of local funding, including revenue from a new state-approved 2% occupancy tax, and a Tourism Enhancement Grant.
