NWCX to Hold Rapid Hiring Event

TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) will host a Rapid Hire Event on Friday, March 27, for individuals interested in starting a career as a correctional officer at the Northwest Correctional Complex. The event will be held at Rapid Care, located in Dyersburg.

The starting salary for correctional officers is $51,204 per year, with increases to $60,720 after 18 months. Newly hired correctional officers are also eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The event will offer a one-stop hiring process, allowing candidates to interview and complete pre-employment requirements during the same visit. Applicants must have education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.

Attendees should bring a current resume, state-issued ID, and proof of highest level of education. Veterans should bring their DD214.

Applicants can reserve a timeslot by scheduling an interview online and are encouraged to complete the TDOC Rapid Hire Employment Application. Walk-ins are also welcome.

TDOC offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement plans; paid time off; and college tuition assistance. New correctional officers receive four weeks of paid training at the Tennessee Correction Academy in Tullahoma, Tennessee, through Basic Correctional Officer Training, which provides handson instruction to prepare officers for their role.
