Mass Gatherings

Assembly or Mass Gathering

The Department of Health regulates mass gatherings of people in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all persons in this state—residents and visitors alike.  These large events are subject to regulation  by the Department  of Health if the assemblage consists of a  gathering of five thousand (5,000) or more people  to be conducted for eighteen (18) or more hours continuously, whether on public or private property.
