PSI & Exam Information

PSI administers the exams for the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. To be eligible for examination, your education provider must submit an online application to PSI, and they will approve eligibility for testing upon review. You are required to meet the pre-licensing education requirements established by the real estate laws and rules. Once approved, PSI will email confirmation with instructions on how to pay and schedule the examination.

Retest/Out-of-State Candidates: To be eligible for examination, you must submit a request through your online CORE account. For out of state candidates, please reach out at trec.info@tn.gov. Once Commission staff has reviewed the request, they will enter the candidate into PSI’s system to test. PSI will then email a confirmation with instructions on how to pay and schedule the examination.

Examination Attendance

You are to report to the scheduled site on the date and time indicated on your admission notice. You must bring your admission notice and a photo ID which bears your signature (driver's license or State ID) for admittance to the examination.

Special Arrangements

All PSI examination centers are equipped to provide access in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and exam accommodations will be made in meeting a candidate's needs. A candidate with a disability or a candidate who would otherwise have difficulty taking the examination should request for alternative arrangements here: https://psihelpdesk.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/364/group/430/create/465.

Candidates granted accommodation in accordance with the ADA, must schedule their examination by telephone and speak directly with a PSI registrar.

Rescheduling

You may cancel and reschedule an examination appointment without forfeiting your fee if your cancellation notice is received 2 days before the scheduled examination date. You may reschedule online or by calling PSI at (855) 340-3710.

Examination Results

Your score will be displayed on screen at the end of the examination and a score report will be emailed to you. If you fail, the emailed score report will include the diagnostic report indicating your strengths and weaknesses by examination type. For confidentiality, scores will not be given over the telephone.

Examination Fees

The passing score for one section of an examination is valid for two (2) retakes of the failed section or one year, whichever comes first.
