In addition to providing consulting services to state agencies, CFG manages a number of enterprise-wide programs that make state government work better for Tennesseans. These programs drive innovation, promote accountability and efficiency, and recognize the service of employees across Tennessee State Government.
Tennessee State Government formally established a performance management system with the Governmental Accountability Act of 2013. This performance management system — known as CFG Planning — is an annual planning process managed by Customer Focused Government (CFG) that supports all 23 cabinet-levels departments with the development, monitoring, and reporting of their CFG Plan. These plans align with the Governor's Operational Priorities and are informed by departments’ 4-Year Strategic Plans. CFG Plans outline Operational Goals and Strategic Initiatives that increase operational efficiency and improve service and program delivery. CFG continuously tracks and monitors performance data, placing publicly available CFG Plan data on the state's transparency and accountability website, Transparent Tennessee.

The Governor's Veteran Fellowship
The Governor’s Veteran Fellowship Program (GVFP) is a 12-month program that rapidly transitions service members to state government leaders through broad exposure to state government operations and project-based assignments. By allowing for an exploratory experience, the program creates the opportunity for fellows to pursue a role in state government once their military service has concluded. The program helps retain high-level talent in Tennessee that will allow the citizens of the state to benefit and prosper.
Service Partnership Agreements
Service Partnership Agreements facilitate more efficient and effective working relationships between the shared services agencies and the executive branch agencies they support. SPAs clarify responsibilities and establish performance metrics to ensure quality service. By ensuring that our citizen-facing agencies have the administrative support they need, we can move even closer to the level of service our citizens deserve.
