Our Programs

In addition to the customized consulting services we offer, CFG maintains a portfolio of enterprise-wide programs that successfully drive innovation, promote accountability and efficiency, and recognize the service of employees. These programs vary in scope and impact, from those focused on shared services to those reimagining service delivery channels.

CFG Planning

CFG Planning

One of the primary responsibilities of the Office of Customer Focused Government is to guide and support the performance management of all 23 cabinet-level departments. Each year, departments go through a planning process to identify operational goals and strategic initiatives to focus on that year.  Each of these goals and initiatives is tied to one of the Governor's 5 Priorities, and the content of these plans become the basis for the Commissioners' performance evaluation.

Service Partnership Agreements

Service Partnership Agreements facilitate more efficient and effective working relationships between the shared services agencies and the executive branch agencies they support. SPAs clarify responsibilities and establish performance metrics to ensure quality service.

By ensuring that our citizen-facing agencies have the administrative support they need, we can move even closer to the perfect level of service our citizens deserve.

Alternative Workplace Solutions

Alternative Workplace Solutions (AWS) is an initiative that creates a cultural and physical transformation using non-traditional workspaces to promote productivity, efficiency, and flexibility across state government that improves the management of the state’s real estate portfolio. AWS enhances workspace use, reducing the state’s real estate footprint, improving energy management, and boosting workforce mobility and productivity. Together, these efficiencies create cost savings for Tennesseans.  With approximately 32 percent of the state’s workforce eligible to retire in the next five years (2024), it is critical to align today’s workplace with trends that attract and retain top talent.

Four-Year Strategic Plans

In 2019, each of the 23 cabinet-level departments created a 4-year strategic plan. The Office of Customer Focused Government supported each department with the development of their four-year strategic plan and continues to provide implementation and monitoring support. Department four-year plans identify the goals and objectives of each department for the period of January 1, 2020, through January 1, 2024.
