NASHVILLE - As part of a bipartisan coalition of 44 state and territory attorneys general, Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti joined a letter sent this week by the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) to Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY) and U.S. House leadership endorsing the Child Exploitation and Artificial Intelligence Expert Commission Act of 2024. The Act was sponsored by Rep. Langworthy (R-NY) and co-sponsored by a bipartisan 16-member coalition.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman urged a federal judge in Lexington, Kentucky to block the Department of Education’s radical new Title IX rule that would harm Tennessee students, families, and schools. The motion for a preliminary injunction was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Of the 26 states that have sued to stop the Administration’s overhaul of Title IX, the Tennessee and Kentucky-led coalition is the first to be heard in federal court.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and 20 of his fellow state attorneys general sent a letter today to the American Bar Association (ABA) demanding the group immediately stop requiring law schools, as part of the accreditation process, to treat students and faculty differently based on race. The ABA serves as the accrediting body for American law schools.
