Rehabilitative Services

An important factor in an incarcerated individual's overall success is their ability to obtain gainful employment upon release. Formerly incarcerated individuals who are able to maintain employment are three times less likely to commit a new crime.  Tennessee communities are healthier and safer when ex-offenders lead productive lives as contributing citizens. The Tennessee Department of Correction's workforce development specialists work diligently to create a network of employers across the state who are willing to offer employment to justice-involved individuals.  In June 2021, 94% of employable offenders on probation/parole were gainfully employed.
