Pothole Repair Prompts Lane Closures on Interstate 24 in Hamilton County
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers traveling near I-24 West in Hamilton County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic. Today, March 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. ET, Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) maintenance crews will close the Williams Street on-ramp and the right lane of I-24 West to repair a pothole in the high bridge at mile marker 178.7.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution as they travel through this area and expect significant delays. Signage will be posted directing drivers through the work zone. This work is weather-dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances cause delays, it will be rescheduled to a later date.
