Construction Activity Prompts SR 131 Lane Closure in Grainger County

Motorists traveling on State Route 131 in Grainger County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have a temporary impact on traffic.

Beginning on Monday, January 12, one lane will be closed on State Route 131 near James West Lane in Washburn as crews begin to construct the tie-ins of new alignment on this roadway. When those activities are complete, one lane will be closed just north of Epperson Road.

Temporary traffic signals will be in place to direct motorists through the work zone. All road construction activities requiring a single-lane configuration are expected to be complete on or before Monday, February 9.

This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions.  Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
