Pavement Repairs Prompt Closures on State Route 111 in Hamilton County
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will perform upcoming overnight ramp closures at the US 27 (SR 29) and SR 111 interchange for concrete repairs.
Closure Locations:
US 27 South to SR 111 North entrance ramp
SR111 South to US 27 North entrance ramp
There will be nightly closures from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. local time beginning Monday, September 8, 2025, through Thursday, September 11, 2025. Only one ramp will be closed at a time.
During these closures, traffic will be detoured South on US 27 to the next exit (approximately 1.5 miles from the interchange) and redirected North to the desired entrance ramp.
Due to limited usable space, full closures at these locations are necessary to ensure worker and driver safety, particularly at the SR 111 South to US 27 North entrance ramp.
Drivers should use caution when traveling through the area during these times and expect delays. This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions.
As always, motorists are reminded to use TDOT’s motorist information tools and Know Before You Go! by checking travel conditions before departure. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on the phone while driving. For the latest updates, visit the TDOT SmartWay Map or dial 511 for statewide travel information.
Tennessee’s Move Over Law requires drivers to move over for highway workers and emergency vehicles. Violation of this law can result in up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.
