Bridge Construction Prompts Closure of Old Batley Road North at State Route 61 in Anderson County

Motorists traveling on State Route 61 (Oliver Springs Highway) in Anderson County should be aware of upcoming bridge construction activities that will affect traffic.

Beginning on Monday, September 29, Old Batley Road North will be closed at SR 61 in Oliver Springs, as contractors begin construction of the new SR 61 bridge over Brushy Creek.

Motorists can access Old Batley Road via Brooks Road and Batley Road.

This closure will remain in effect until September 30, 2026.

This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions.  Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
