BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-30 and SR-443, the grading, drainage, stream relocation, widening, and resurfacing on Summer City Road: The contractor will be performing grade work and widening on Summer City Road in Bledsoe County. This work will narrow the lanes at LM 2.0 and LM 4.3 and will leave both lanes open to traffic. Please slow down and use caution when driving through the work zone. BRADLEY COUNTY I-75 [15.35-19.309] from MM 31 to MM 35 (McMinn County Line) resurfacing: The contractor will continue paving operations. BRADLEY COUNTY SR-60 [13.1-13.28] at Benton Pike safety improvements: During this reporting period, improvements on the SR-60 North exit to Benton Pike will continue. Expect the roadway to be reduced to one lane weekdays between the hours of 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. The SR-60 North exit ramp to Benton Pike will be closed for the duration of the project. CANNON COUNTY SR-281 [0-4.51] from SR-53 to Todd Rd resurfacing: The contractor will have lane closures during daylight hours from 5 AM to 9 PM for operations involving installing traffic control devices and then milling and paving operations as needed. COFFEE COUNTY I-24 (MM 105) construction of an overpass carrying SR-2 (US-41): Periodic flagging operations will be utilized daily for remaining construction activities. There will be alternating lane closures on I-24 at MM 105 from 09/14/25 through 09/18/2025 nightly from 7 PM to 6 AM for bridge painting activities. COFFEE COUNTY I-24 (MM 117) construction of an overpass carrying Wattendorf Memorial Highway/AEDC Road, including grading, drainage, retaining walls, and paving: Drivers can expect short-term flagging operations for trucks entering and exiting the work zone on Wattendorf Highway. COFFEE COUNTY I-24 resurfacing from east of SR-2 (US-41) (LM 8.9) to near SR-55 (LM 14.8), including bridge expansion joint repairs and thin epoxy overlay: Nightly alternating lane closures will continue on I-24 from 7 PM-6 AM for resurfacing operations. One lane in each direction will be maintained at all times. Starting Friday, 9/19 at 7 PM, the right lane on I-24 WB at MM 110 will be closed for bridge repair activities. The WB entrance ramp at MM 110 will also be closed. We are expecting the closure to be removed and traffic restored by 12 PM on Sunday, 9/21, but the closure is approved through Monday, 9/22, at 5 AM if needed to complete the work.

COFFEE COUNTY SR-55 construction from First Avenue (LM 2.0) to SR-16 (US-41A, N. Jackson St, LM 2.6) in Tullahoma: Phase 1 of roadway widening and bridge replacement on SR-55 (Wilson Ave.) will continue this week. Contractor may use temporary lane shifts to complete storm structure installations. Phase 1 traffic shift has reduced lanes from 3 to 2 from Cedar Lane to near Grau Lane in order to continue bridge replacement and storm drainage work.

COFFEE COUNTY SR-55 repair of the bridge over the Little Duck River (LM 14.0): Lanes are reduced to one lane in each direction across the SR-55 bridge over the Little Duck River for bridge repair work. This lane reduction will be in place until work is complete in Fall 2025.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 TDOT Maintenance eastbound at MM 326.4: TDOT Maintenance crews will be performing traffic control for bridge repairs on I-40 East Bound at the 326.4 MM in Cumberland County. The work will require a right lane and shoulder closure. The operation will be performed from 8:30 AM to 3 PM on 09/16/25. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the work zone.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 [304-306] from Putnam County Line to near parking area resurfacing and bridge repair: The contractor will be milling and paving nightly on I-40 from MM 304 to MM 307 from 7 PM to 6 AM. During this work, one lane in each direction will be closed. Motorists should use caution as they approach the work zone and should prepare to encounter slow or stopped traffic. CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 [317.86-322.37] from near Obed River to near SR-101 resurfacing: The contractor is performing nighttime resurfacing operations of I-40 from near the Obed River at MM317.8 to near SR-101 at MM322.3. This work will typically take place between Sunday night through Friday morning from 7 PM to 6 AM each night. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the area. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-HWY. 70 W.) TDOT Bridge Inspection, both directions at LM 25.68: Routine inspections of the I-40 bridges over SR-1 in Crab Orchard will require lane closures on SR-1 on 9/22/2025 from 8 AM until 11 AM. Work will begin in the eastbound lane at 8 AM and will move to the westbound lane as the inspection progresses. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists are advised to be alert to the presence of flaggers and be prepared to stop when approaching the I-40 overpass from either direction.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-24 (US-70 N.) TDOT Bridge Inspection, both directions at LM 0.12: Routine inspections of the I-40 overpass bridges over SR-24 near the Putnam County line will require lane closures on SR-24 on 9/23/2025 from 8 AM until 11 AM. Work will begin at 8 AM in the eastbound lane and move to the westbound lane as the inspections progress. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists are advised to use caution as they approach the I-40 overpass from either direction during this time. Be alert to the presence of temporary traffic control measures and flaggers.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) bridge construction and paving from north of I-40 (LM 17.8) to near Potato Farm Road (LM 22.7): The contractor continues grading activities throughout the project limits. Temporary lane closures and/or periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities. The contractor has scheduled paving operations beginning on the north end of the project on the proposed alignment. The contractor has closed North Grace Hill Drive at the existing intersection of SR-28 (US-127) for construction activities. Motorists should utilize South Grace Hill Drive as the detour with appropriate signs. Traffic has been moved to temporary alignment on Plateau Road and permanent alignment on Potato Farm Road. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-298 [8.35-9.02] from north of Catoosa Canyon Dr to south of Obed Pines Rd construction of a small drainage structure: The contractor continues construction activities on Genesis Road (SR-298). Both lanes of Genesis Road (SR-298) at LM 8.35 to LM 9.02 have been closed and will be closed for the duration of the project, with a posted detour route along SR-28 (US-127) and SR-62. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-68 [0.34-5.58] from near SR-28 (US-127) to near Wiley Ford Road resurfacing: The contractor will be performing paving activities along SR-68 from near SR-28 (LM 0.34) to near Wiley Ford Road (LM 5.58). During these operations, a temporary lane closure will be utilized with flaggers and signs. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the project limits. CUMBERLAND AND FENTRESS COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) widening from near N. Lowe Rd (LM 29.2) to north of SR-62 (LM 1.9): The contractor has shifted traffic to phase 2 on the newly constructed portions of SR-28, LM 0.90 to 1.98 in Fentress County. Work will proceed on the existing alignment of SR-28. Flaggers are being used intermittently as needed to control traffic through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to use caution, be aware of new traffic signs and pavement markings, and watch for construction equipment and personnel throughout the project.

Utility Work both directions from LM 26.35 to LM 29.75: Flagger-assisted lane closures on SR-26 (Sparta Hwy) from the White County line to Billings Road / Johnson Chapel Road. DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 (US-70) grading, drainage, and construction of retaining walls and paving from near SR-53 (LM 2) to near SR-96 (LM 6.1): The contractor continues grading and construction activities throughout the project. Temporary lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities, and motorists should be prepared to stop while traveling through the work zone. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction Phase 2: Nightly Lane closures will occur on this project, 9 PM to 6 AM, on I-75 North and South between Exit 1 (East Ridge) and Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road/ SR-320) and on I-24 East and West from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road, MM182 to MM185, for various construction activities. These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. (Note: The contractor has opened an additional lane on I-24 West between Spring Creek Road and Belvoir Avenue. On Thursday (9/18) night (9 PM to 6 AM) the contractor will be closing lanes on I-24 West between Spring Creek Road and McBrien Road for overhead sign work. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at the Hamilton Place Mall interchange: The SR-153 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic shifts have been implemented on I-75 northbound, Shallowford Road entrance ramps, Shallowford Road exit ramps, and the Hamilton Place Mall exit ramp. Hamilton Loop Road is closed for retaining wall construction and storm drainage installation between the intersections near Markman’s Jewelers and Texas Roadhouse. The contractor has implemented a traffic shift on Hamilton Place Blvd., shifting NB and SB traffic to the east side of the existing roadway from near the I-75 SB on-ramp to near Bams Drive for the installation of storm drainage. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 [8.97-10.14] from MLK to Frazier Avenue resurfacing: Contract crews will be working on Market Street intersections overnight from Sunday through Friday, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM local time, to minimize daytime traffic impacts. There will be limited designated on-street parking during this work. This designation enables crews to work around intersections and not trap vehicles within required lane closures. POLK COUNTY SR-68 over SR-40 the construction of bridges: During this reporting period, the contractor will continue construction on the SR-68 North bridge. All SR-68 traffic is using the existing SR-68 South bridge while construction occurs on the new SR-68 North bridge. All SR-40/SR-68 interchange traffic will utilize the SR-68 South interchange ramps. PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 [300-304] from West of SR-24 to Cumberland County Line resurfacing and bridge repair: The contractor will be milling and paving nightly on I-40 from MM 300 to MM 304 from 7 PM to 6 AM. During this work, one lane in each direction will be closed. In addition, the on and off ramps may be closed intermittently to allow the contractor to mill or pave.
