CLAY COUNTY SR-52 [18.7-20.56] from South of Boyd Street to Near SR-53 resurfacing: The contractor has completed resurfacing. Intermittent lane closures will be used along with flaggers to control traffic through the work zone as the contractor completes the remaining incidental work. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) bridge construction and paving from north of I-40 (LM 17.8) to near Potato Farm Road (LM 22.7): The contractor continues grading activities throughout the project limits. Temporary lane closures and/or periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities. The contractor has scheduled paving operations beginning on the north end of the project on the proposed alignment. The contractor has closed North Grace Hill Drive at the existing intersection of SR-28 (US-127) for construction activities. Motorists should utilize South Grace Hill Drive as the detour with appropriate signs. Traffic has been moved to temporary alignment on Plateau Road and permanent alignment on Potato Farm Road. CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 [304-306] from Putnam County Line to near parking area resurfacing and bridge repair: The contractor is scheduled to begin milling and paving operations nightly at MM 304 to MM 307 from 7 PM to 6 AM beginning Wednesday, 08/13/25. During this work, one lane in each direction will be closed. Motorists should use caution as they approach the work zone and should prepare to encounter slow or stopped traffic.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 [317.86-322.37] from near Obed River to near SR-101 resurfacing: The contractor is performing nighttime resurfacing operations of I-40 from near the Obed River at MM317.8 to near SR-101 at MM322.3. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) construction of bridge over the Obed River (LM 12.7): Construction activities continue on SR-1 (US-70) over the Obed River bridge. SR-1 has been reopened. Construction crews will be working outside of the roadway to install utilities. Traffic should be cautious of construction equipment near the shoulders. Contractor may need to flag traffic to move equipment or vehicles across the road.

The contractor is working on removing and replacing the concrete sidewalk and curb ramps from Lantana Road to West 2nd Street. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-298 [8.35-9.02] from north of Catoosa Canyon Dr to south of Obed Pines Rd construction of a small drainage structure: The contractor continues construction activities on Genesis Road (SR-298). Both lanes of Genesis Road (SR-298) at LM 8.35 to LM 9.02 have been closed and will be closed for the duration of the project with a posted detour route along SR-28 (US-127) and SR-62. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-462 from SR-28 (US-127N / LM 3.1) to SR-298 (Genesis Road / LM 4.6) in Crossville: Construction activities are in progress. DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 (US-70) grading, drainage, and construction of retaining walls and paving from near SR-53 (LM 2) to near SR-96 (LM 6.1): The contractor continues grading and construction activities throughout the project. Temporary lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities and motorists should be prepared to stop while traveling through the work zone. PUTNAM COUNTY SR-136 construction from north of the SR-111 interchange to south of the I-40 interchange: The contractor continues grading activities throughout the project. Temporary lane closures and/or periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities. West Davis Road and Henley Drive remain closed at the intersection of SR-136 with detour signs to utilize Bunker Hill Road. SR-111 SB exit ramp to SR-136 is closed. The detour for this closure is for motorists to utilize I-40 to SR 136 and then use SR 136 to travel southbound. The contractor has also scheduled lane closures to be installed between 08/13/25 to 08/15/25 at the north end of the project near the I-40 overpass bridges. Jefferson Avenue will be closed down to one lane in each direction from near Bunker Hill Road to the end of the project at the I-40 overpass bridges. The turning lanes to I-40 eastbound and Bunker Hill Road will remain opened. PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 [300-304] from West of SR-24 to Cumberland County Line resurfacing and bridge repair: The contractor is scheduled to begin milling and paving operations nightly at MM 300 to MM 304 from 7 PM to 6 AM beginning Wednesday, 08/13/25. During this work, one lane in each direction will be closed. The contractor has also scheduled bridge repair work to begin Friday, 08/15/25 at 7 PM through Monday, 08/18/25 at 6 AM at MM 300 eastbound. During this work, one lane of I-40 will be shut down while the contractor performs work. BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-30 and SR-443, the grading, drainage, stream relocation, widening, and resurfacing on Summer City Road: The contractor will be performing grade work and widening on Summer City Road in Bledsoe County. COFFEE COUNTY I-24 (MM 117) construction of an overpass carrying Wattendorf Memorial Highway/AEDC Road, including grading, drainage, retaining walls, and paving: Drivers can expect short term flagging operations for trucks entering and exiting the work zone on Wattendorf Highway. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone. COFFEE COUNTY I-24 (MM 105) construction of an overpass carrying SR-2 (US-41): Phase 2 of I-24 bridge replacement at Exit 105 will continue this week. COFFEE COUNTY SR-55 construction from First Avenue (LM 2.0) to SR-16 (US-41A, N. Jackson St, LM 2.6) in Tullahoma: Phase 1 of roadway widening and bridge replacement on SR-55 (Wilson Ave.) will continue this week. Contractor may use temporary lane shifts to complete storm structure installations. Phase 1 traffic shift has reduced lanes from 3 to 2 from Cedar Lane to near Grau Lane in order to continue bridge replacement and storm drainage work.

WARREN COUNTY SR-1 (US-70S) bridge repair over SR-55 (LM 10.5): The contractor will have intermittent lane closures on SR-1 on both the EB and WB bridges with drums. Under the bridge on SR-55 Bypass the portable barrier rail is in place, closing the outside shoulders under the bridge. BRADLEY COUNTY I-75 [15.35-19.309] from MM 31 to MM 35 (McMinn County Line) resurfacing: The contractor will continue paving operations. This work will require temporary lane closures in both directions, which will occur Sunday nights through Friday nights 8 PM to 6 AM. Motorist should exercise caution and pay attention to construction signage. The speed limit will be reduced during paving operations. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction Phase 2: Nightly Lane closures will occur on this project, 9 PM to 6 AM, on I-75 North and South between Exit 1 (East Ridge) and Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road/ SR-320) and on I-24 East and West from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road, MM182 to MM185, for various construction activities. These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. (Note: Overhead sign work will resume on I-75 (North and South) and on I-24 (East and West) between Sunday, August 17th and Thursday, August 21th. Nightly between 9 PM and 6 AM, traffic on interstates may be reduced to a single lane and/or rolling roadblocks used to temporarily stop traffic (15 minutes or less) while crews install signs or overhead structures. The entrance ramp from South Terrace (between S. Moore Road and McBrien Road) onto I-24 East is temporarily closed for approximately 3 weeks to facilitate road work that cannot be done under traffic. A new entrance ramp from South Terrace (between Belvoir Avenue and S. Moore Road) has been opened and detours to this new entrance ramp have been posted. The I-24 West entrance ramp at Germantown Road is closed for noise wall installation work that will continue for the next 2 to 4 weeks. Detours are posted for the ramp closure to an alternative entrance.) It may be necessary to do short duration (15 to 30 minutes) rolling roadblocks during the day or night for patching potholes, clearing debris or repairing guardrail, attenuators, etc. Portions of the left lane on North and South Terrace between Germantown Road and Spring Creek Road will remain closed for the installation of drainage structures, sanitary sewers, retaining and noise wall construction. The entrance and exit ramps to I-24 between Belvoir Avenue and Moore Road are currently closed (Note: A new entrance ramp from North Terrace to I-24 West is now open in this area. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 (RINGGOLD RD.) TDOT Contractor both directions at LM 5.04: Routine inspections of the Bachman Tunnels are scheduled for the overnight hours of Monday 8/18/25 and Tuesday 8/19/25. The north bore will be closed from 8 PM on 8/18/25 until 5 AM on 8/19/25. The south bore will be closed from 8 pm on 8/19/25 until 5 am on 8/20/25. Follow detour signs. Traffic will be detoured via Westside Drive, Shadowlawn Drive and South Seminole Drive.
HAMILTON COUNTY I-124 (US-27) from I-24 Interchange to South of the Tennessee River Bridge: Daily lane closures are possible between 9 AM and 3:30 PM as the contractor work along the ramps and 4th Street. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at the Hamilton Place Mall interchange: The SR-153 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic shifts have been implemented on I-75 northbound, Shallowford Road entrance ramps, and Shallowford Road exit ramps and Hamilton Place Mall exit ramp. Hamilton Loop Road is closed for retaining wall construction and storm drainage installation between the intersections near Markman’s Jewelers and Texas Roadhouse. The contractor has implemented a traffic shift on Hamilton Place Blvd. shifting NB and SB traffic to the east side of the existing roadway from near the I-75 SB on-ramp to near Bams Drive for the installation of storm drainage. The contractor will maintain 1 lane of traffic in each direction throughout this area. The speed limit has been reduced on I-75 throughout the project limits. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-317 (Apison Pike) improvement project from SR-321 (Ooltewah-Ringgold Road) to east of Layton Lane: Lane closures and flagging operations will be required on SR-317, Apison Pike, for bridge and grading work. The flagging operations will be performed on 08/14/25, 08/15/25, 08/18/25, 08/19/25 and 08/20/25 from 7 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 7 PM. Closures will last about 2 hours per location. The contractor will have intermittent flagging operations during daytime non-peak hours for bridge work, delivery of materials and equipment.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 [10.14-11.96] from Frazier Ave to Signal Mountain Blvd resurfacing: The contractor will be resurfacing Cherokee Blvd and Dayton Blvd (SR-8) between Frazier Ave and Signal Mtn Blvd. This work will be performed at night between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The traveling public can expect delays with lane closures and flaggers present. There will be temporary detours utilizing US-27 and Manufactures Road between 8/17/25 and 8/19/25. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 [8.97-10.14] from MLK to Frazier Avenue resurfacing: Contract crews will be working on Market Street overnight from Sunday through Friday, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM local time, to minimize daytime traffic impacts. There will be no designated on-street parking during this work. This designation enables crews to resurface the entire asphalt roadway, including parking areas, while protecting nearby vehicles and ensuring safe, efficient operation of heavy equipment throughout the project.
