Ramp Closures and Traffic Shifts on S.R. 14 at I-55
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will begin implementing lane reductions, ramp closures, and traffic shifts along S.R. 14 and I-55 as part of a bridge replacement project in southwest Memphis beginning the week of July 27.
On Thursday, July 31, two major loop ramps will be closed:
- The northbound S.R. 14 to westbound I-55 ramp
- The southbound S.R. 14 to eastbound I-55 ramp
These closures will remain in place for the duration of the construction, and detour routes will be posted.
In addition, S.R. 14 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction within the project area for this initial construction phase, and I-55 traffic will be shifted in both directions. Despite the shift, two lanes will remain open for northbound and southbound I-55 traffic. Overnight closures to one lane on I-55 are expected as construction moves forward.
Further project phases will include full weekend closures on I-55 and S.R. 14 and additional ramp closures and detours. Specific dates and detour maps will be provided in advance.
