MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has begun a significant resurfacing and bridge repair project on a 4.1-mile stretch of I-240 in Memphis, extending from near Poplar Avenue (Exit 15) to Summer Avenue (Exit 12) at the I-40 and I-240 interchange. The project encompasses pavement resurfacing, bridge deck enhancements, and expansion joint repairs along a portion of I-240 that accommodates approximately 176,000 vehicles daily.

·         Project Length: 4.1 miles

·         Contractor: APAC-Tennessee Inc.

·         Contract Amount: $8 Million

·         Scheduled Completion: On or before November 30, 2025

Paving activities are expected to begin on Wednesday, June 18, at 7:00 p.m. To minimize the impact on daily commuters, resurfacing work will occur overnight from Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with intermittent ramp closures as needed. One lane will remain open.

Bridge work will require two full weekend closures of I-240 East over the Greenway. Exact dates for the weekend closures will be announced in advance.
