Construction Prompts Ramp Closure to Interstate 24 West in Hamilton County
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers traveling near North Terrace in Hamilton County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will temporarily impact traffic. As part of Phase 2 (the second of two projects) to widen and improve the I-75 at I-24 interchange, Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will perform a temporary ramp closure on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM local time.
During this time, the I-24 West entrance ramp from North Terrace at Marlboro Avenue will be closed to allow the contractor to complete guardrail installation at this location. Drivers seeking to access I-24 West should use the Exit 183 entrance ramp at Germantown Road as an alternate route.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and expect delays. Drivers should follow all posted signage and remain alert to changing traffic conditions.
As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and Know Before You Go! by checking travel conditions before leaving for your destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel. Get the latest construction activity traffic updates from the TDOT SmartWay Map.
