COFFEE COUNTY I-24 TDOT Bridge Maintenance westbound at MM 100.2: Bridge Repair operations will be conducted on 11/05/2025 from 8 PM to 2 AM and on 11/06/2025 from 8 PM to 2 AM with a lane closure. A rolling roadblock will be used to set up and take down the traffic control. THP will be used as motorists travel throughout the area.

COFFEE COUNTY SR-55 construction from First Avenue (LM 2.0) to SR-16 (US-41A, N. Jackson St, LM 2.6) in Tullahoma: Phase 1 of roadway widening and bridge replacement on SR-55 (Wilson Ave.) will continue this week. Contractor may use temporary lane shifts to complete storm structure installations. Phase 1 traffic shift has reduced lanes from 3 to 2 from Cedar Lane to near Grau Lane in order to continue bridge replacement and storm drainage work.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) construction of bridge over the Obed River (LM 12.7): Construction activities may take place on SR-1 (US-70) over the Obed River bridge. Construction crews will be working outside of the roadway to complete remaining work activities. Traffic should be cautious of construction equipment near the shoulders. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127 S.) Utility Work both directions from LM 0.44 to LM 5.94: Northbound and Southbound Lane closures on SR-28 (HWY 127 S.) between Lowes Gap Rd. and Willard Brown Rd. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) bridge construction and paving from north of I-40 (LM 17.8) to near Potato Farm Road (LM 22.7): The contractor continues grading activities throughout the project limits. Temporary lane closures and/or periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities. The contractor has scheduled paving operations beginning on the north end of the project on the proposed alignment. The contractor has closed North Grace Hill Drive at the existing intersection of SR-28 (US-127) for construction activities. Motorists should utilize South Grace Hill Drive as the detour with appropriate signs. Traffic has been moved to temporary alignment on Plateau Road and permanent alignment on Potato Farm Road. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-298 [8.35-9.02] from north of Catoosa Canyon Dr to south of Obed Pines Rd construction of a small drainage structure: The contractor continues construction activities on Genesis Road (SR-298). Both lanes of Genesis Road (SR-298) at LM 8.35 to LM 9.02 have been closed and will be closed for the duration of the project with a posted detour route along SR-28 (US-127) and SR-62. The contractor will be working to replace a culvert underneath Genesis Road and install retaining walls. RESTRICTIONS: Both lanes of Genesis Road (SR-298) are closed from LM 8.35 to LM 9.02. [J. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-462 from SR-28 (US-127N / LM 3.1) to SR-298 (Genesis Road / LM 4.6) in Crossville: Construction may take place as the contractor finishes remaining small items. Activities may require temporary lane closures and/or traffic stoppages on Interstate Drive (SR-462), as well as short-term closures of city streets. CUMBERLAND AND FENTRESS COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) widening from near N. Lowe Rd (LM 29.2) to north of SR-62 (LM 1.9): The contractor has shifted traffic to phase 2 on the newly constructed portions of SR-28, LM 0.90 to 1.98 in Fentress County. Work will proceed on the existing alignment of SR-28. Flaggers are being used intermittently as needed to control traffic through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to use caution, be aware of new traffic signs and pavement markings, and watch for construction equipment and personnel throughout the project.

DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 (SPARTA HWY.) TDOT Contractor eastbound at LM 24.58: A TDOT contractor will be conducting an inspection of Sligo Bridge, SR-26 over Caney Fork River on Tuesday, 11/4/25. This will result in the closure of the eastbound lane and shoulder from 9 AM until 3 PM. This work is weather-dependent. In the event of inclement weather, the inspection will be completed on Wednesday, 11/5/25. Automatic Flagging Devices will be present to direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists are advised to approach the bridge with caution and be prepared to stop as needed.

DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 (US-70) grading, drainage, and construction of retaining walls and paving from near SR-53 (LM 2) to near SR-96 (LM 6.1): The contractor continues grading and construction activities throughout the project. Temporary lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities, and motorists should be prepared to stop while traveling through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to obey the posted speed limit and to watch for construction equipment and personnel adjacent to the roadway. The West end of Old Liberty Road will be closed to through traffic due to construction activities. DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 [10.88-13.25] from Near East Main Street to Trapp Lane resurfacing: The contractor will be milling and paving along SR-26. During this work, temporary lane closures will be used, and motorists are expected to follow all signage and expect delays. DEKALB COUNTY SR-96 (DALE RIDGE RD.) TDOT Maintenance, both directions from LM 12.5 to LM 12.9: SR96 will be closed in both directions on 11/5/25 and 11/6/25 from 8 AM-4 PM due to construction. Message boards will be in place. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when in the area.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-62 [5.79-5.81] from west of SR-28 (US-127) to SR-28 (US-127) storm drain installation: The contractor will be closing a lane on SR-62 from LM 5.79 to LM 5.81 just west of SR-28 (US-127) to install a storm drain. The closure will occur nightly from 6 PM to 5 AM beginning 11/10/25 to 11/14/25. Flaggers will be used to control traffic. HAMILTON COUNTY I-124 (US-27) from I-24 Interchange to South of the Tennessee River Bridge: Daily lane closures are possible between 9 AM and 3:30 PM as the contractor works along the ramps and 4th Street. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction Phase 2: Nightly Lane closures will occur on this project, 9 PM to 6 AM, on I-75 North and South between Exit 1 (East Ridge) and Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road/ SR-320) and on I-24 East and West from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road, MM182 to MM185, for various construction activities. These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. (Note: Nighttime Lane closures (9 PM to 6 AM) of I-24 West and East should be expected between Germantown Road and Spring Creek Road on Thursday (10/30) and from Sunday (11/2) to Thursday (11/6) next week for paving, as well as painting and texture coating of retaining and noise walls. At times, traffic may be temporarily reduced to a single lane while this work is taking place. As paving of traffic lanes and the painting of walls progresses, it will be necessary to temporarily close entrance and exit ramps along I-24 for crews to safely perform their work. Message boards and detours will be posted to guide traffic to the next available ramp. Currently, the entrance ramp from South Terrace onto I-24 East (between South Moore Road and McBrien Road) is scheduled to be closed the nights of Thursday (10/30), Sunday (11/2), and Monday (11/3) for painting and texture coating the various walls along the ramp. Most of the remaining work items on this project are temperature and weather-sensitive. If any of them are canceled due to inclement conditions, they will be rescheduled to take place on the next available day when adequate conditions exist.) HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at the Hamilton Place Mall interchange: The SR-153 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic shifts have been implemented on I-75 northbound, Shallowford Road entrance ramps, Shallowford Road exit ramps, and the Hamilton Place Mall exit ramp. Hamilton Loop Road is closed for retaining wall construction and storm drainage installation between the intersections near Markman’s Jewelers and Texas Roadhouse. The contractor has implemented a traffic shift on Hamilton Place Blvd., shifting NB and SB traffic to the east side of the existing roadway from near the I-75 SB on-ramp to near Bams Drive for the installation of storm drainage. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 TDOT Contractor both directions at MM 8.49: A TDOT contractor will be conducting an inspection on the I-75 bridge over Friar Branch and NS railroad at MM 8.49 on Sunday, 11/2/2025, from 6 AM until 12 PM. The outside shoulder will be closed on the Northbound Bridge from 6:00 am until approximately 9:00 am. Immediately upon completion of the inspection of the northbound lanes, work will commence on the Southbound outside shoulder, which will be closed from approximately 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. Please exercise caution when approaching the bridge. Be alert to the presence of inspection equipment, vehicles, and personnel working on and near the shoulder.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 [4.2-4.5] from Exit 4A to SR-153 to Exit 3 to East Brainerd Road box culvert rehabilitation: The right shoulder of SB I-75 is closed with concrete barrier rail in place. Drivers should watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the interstate. Two SB lanes will be closed on Thursday Night, 10/23/25, between the hours of 8 PM and 6 AM.

JACKSON COUNTY SR-135 [15.74-20.76] from SR-56 to Clay County Line resurfacing: The contractor will be on site intermittently to work on punch list items. REGION 2 The on-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor will have short-term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly Sunday through Thursday from 7 PM to 6 AM and daily Monday through Friday on state routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the interstate, and flaggers will be present on state routes during any work that is performed.

REGION 2 Thermoplastic retracing on various interstate and state routes: The contractor will be on site in Rhea County on SR-30 at SR-303, Clay County SR-51 at SR-52, SR-58 LM 17.430 - 17.830, Hamilton County SR-17 at LM 8.73, Hamilton County SR-317 at LM 0.517, Hamilton County SR-317 at SR-153 Interchange, Hamilton County SR-317 at LM 0.971, Hamilton County SR-317 at LM 1.308, Hamilton County SR-317 at LM 1.573 - 1.794, Rhea County SR-30 from SR-29 to Cottonport Road. During this work, the contractor will utilize a mobile operation with mobile message boards and an attenuator truck. Motorists are encouraged to slow down as they approach the work and should be aware of the potential of stopped or slowing traffic.

REGION 2 Various Interstate and SRs - Cable Barrier Repair: The contractor will have short-term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform cable barrier rail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly Sunday through Thursday from 7 PM to 6 AM and daily Monday through Friday. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Typically, only a shoulder closure will be used in the median, but lane closures will be employed as needed.

RHEA COUNTY SR-29 [14.66-19.879] from Boofer Lane to Metzger LN Resurfacing: Paving is complete. The contractor may have some cleanup work to complete. This may require temporary lane closures from 7 AM to 6 PM or mobile operations. Motorists should use caution while traveling on this route and pay attention to all construction signage.

WHITE COUNTY SR-111 (SPENCER HWY.) TDOT Maintenance southbound at LM 7.3: SR111 will be reduced to one lane starting 10/30/25 at 8:00 AM for the widening and resurfacing of a turning lane. Expect the roadway to be reduced to one lane weekdays between the hours of 8:00-3:00 PM until the project is completed. Motorists are encouraged to follow signage and use caution when in the area.

 

RESTRICTIONS

CUMBERLAND COUNTY - CNZ103: Both lanes of Genesis Road (SR-298) are closed from LM 8.35 to LM 9.02.
