Region 2 (Chattanooga/Cumberland Plateau) lane closures and road construction activity for June 13-19, 2024

List of lane closures for the week of June 6-12, 2024 due to scheduled construction and maintenance work in the mid-state.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will conduct its quarterly testing and maintenance on the Market Street Bridge in downtown Chattanooga on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. EDT to 12 p.m. EDT. The bridge will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic as the testing is performed.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Once again, Manchester, Tennessee will host the annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which is one of the most popular live music events in the country. Since 2002, the event has featured a diverse assortment of performers on a 700-acre Middle Tennessee farm that becomes the temporary home for thousands from across the country. Over 65,000 people are expected to attend this year’s festival, which runs from Thursday, June 13, 2024, through Sunday, June 16, 2024.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers traveling on SR 153 in Hamilton County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic. Beginning Friday, June 7, 2024, at 9:00 pm ET and continuing until 6:00 am ET on Monday, June 10, 2024, Tennessee Valley Authority contract crews will close the SR 153 South bridge over the Chickamauga Dam for repairs.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers traveling on SR 60 in Bradley County should be aware of upcoming nearby road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic. A portion of Freewill Road will be closed for the month of June from the intersection of SR 60 to just west of the Hopewell Elementary School to complete necessary road work.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is working with the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) and Superior Construction to expedite the completion of the I-40 / SR 255 (Donelson Pike) Interchange.
