
Stephanie Maxwell
Sports Wagering Council
Stephanie Maxwell is the Deputy Director and General Counsel for the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council.
Prior to joining the Sports Wagering Council, Stephanie served as General Counsel to the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury for eight years and practiced civil litigation for fourteen years at two Nashville law firms – Bass, Berry & Sims and Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis (now Holland & Knight).
Stephanie received a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and holds a Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She is a member of the Seton Hall Law School Gaming Advisory Council, the International Masters of Gaming Law, and the Nashville Bar Association. She is a fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation and received the Enterprise Award from the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Division. She has served on the boards of Harding
Academy, the Nashville Aquatics Club, and Middle Tennessee Alumni Chapter of Washington and Lee University.
Stephanie and her husband Kemp have three sons. She and her family enjoy hiking and swimming. She loves to read, and is especially interested in World War II history.
