Quality in Construction (QIC)

Quality in Construction (QIC) is one of the continuous improvement initiatives led by the State Architect to encourage collaboration between capital projects teams of the State Procurement Agencies and design and construction professionals who frequently work on State projects.  The QIC Task Force meets quarterly, in person, with representatives from the Office of the State Architect, the State Procurement Agencies, designers coordinated through the AIA and ACEC trade groups, and contractors coordinated through the ABC and AGC trade groups.  QIC has been integral in the State’s efforts to improve upon its designer selection and contractor procurement processes.  It also offers and opportunity for industry participants to share trends or other insights with State Procurement Agency staff to assist in planning, budgeting and scheduling of future State projects.  Those interested in joining the QIC Task Force should reach out to their respective trade groups or the Office of the State Architect at State.Architect@tn.gov.
