JOELTON, Tenn. — Anglers visiting Marrowbone Lake in Davidson County will notice some operational changes. The lake’s concessionaire is no longer in service, and as a result, boat rentals are currently unavailable until further notice.

NASHVILLE – Beginning November 3, 2025, the Tennessee Department of Correction will transition from physical mail to scanned, digitized personal mail for inmates at all TDOC facilities.

NASHVILLE--Commissioner of Financial Institutions Greg Gonzales announced today that the maximum effective formula rate of interest in Tennessee is 11.25 percent per annum. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) Nobody Trashes Tennessee (NTT) litter prevention campaign is rolling out the third patch in its scouting and youth patch series. Launched in 2023, the Patch Program offers litter prevention and educational resources, recognizing scouts and other youth groups that participate in community litter cleanups or organize their own group cleanup events.

The Tennessee State Museum has announced the recipients of grants from the 2025-26 Capital Maintenance and Improvements program from the State of Tennessee, as administered through the Museum. The funding came from $5 million the Tennessee General Assembly made available in the 2025-2026 Appropriations Act, “for the sole purpose of providing grants to museums with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or affiliated with a governmental entity for capital maintenance and improvements.”

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. --- A major river restoration project is set to begin in October, as the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and partners break ground on the removal of Harm’s Mill Dam, a key step toward restoring the natural flow of the Elk River. Access to the site will be closed to the public beginning Oct. 13, 2025, until completion of the restoration project.

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold a one-day meeting on Friday, Oct. 17, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Region II Ray Bell Building.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) mobile household hazardous waste collection service will be in Jefferson and Sumner counties Saturday, Oct. 18.

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Jimmy Ray Butts pleading guilty to tax charges.
