NASHVILLE--Commissioner of Financial Institutions Greg Gonzales announced today that the maximum effective formula rate of interest in Tennessee is 11.25 percent per annum. The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 7.25 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on October 14, 2025.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) Nobody Trashes Tennessee (NTT) litter prevention campaign is rolling out the third patch in its scouting and youth patch series. Launched in 2023, the Patch Program offers litter prevention and educational resources, recognizing scouts and other youth groups that participate in community litter cleanups or organize their own group cleanup events.

The Tennessee State Museum has announced the recipients of grants from the 2025-26 Capital Maintenance and Improvements program from the State of Tennessee, as administered through the Museum. The funding came from $5 million the Tennessee General Assembly made available in the 2025-2026 Appropriations Act, “for the sole purpose of providing grants to museums with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or affiliated with a governmental entity for capital maintenance and improvements.”

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. --- A major river restoration project is set to begin in October, as the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and partners break ground on the removal of Harm’s Mill Dam, a key step toward restoring the natural flow of the Elk River. Access to the site will be closed to the public beginning Oct. 13, 2025, until completion of the restoration project.
