NASHVILLE--Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Commissioner Greg Gonzales announced today that the maximum effective formula rate of interest in Tennessee is 12.50 percent per annum. The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 8.50 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on September 16, 2024.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) is accepting grant proposals for projects that will help improve water quality by reducing nonpoint source (NPS) pollution in the state. “This cost share funding is a direct investment in improving water quality across Tennessee,” said Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, D.V.M. “By supporting projects that reduce pollutants in our natural water sources, we’re not only protecting the environment but also promoting the health of people and wildlife. Our focus is on watershed restoration and raising awareness about nonpoint source pollution.”

Public access to the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry’s (TDF) East Tennessee Nursery for recreational purposes is temporarily suspended while contractors execute a hydrology project on the property. Recreational use is expected to resume in April 2025.
