Nancy Baker DeFriece is the President of The Landmark Realty, a Realty/Construction Company she founded in 1978. She also serves as the managing partner of Sikorski-DeFriece Properties.
As a successful businesswoman and longtime patron of the Arts, DeFriece has lent her expertise to many nonprofit organizations. Several of her nonprofit activities include: former Chair of the Tennessee Arts Commission, The Bristol School of Ballet, The Appalachian Girl Scout Council, Birthplace of Country Music’s Board of Visitors, Chair of International Storytelling Center’s Circle of Friends, past President of Barter Theatre’s (State Theatre of Virginia) Board of Directors, Massengill-DeFriece Foundation, and The Junior League of Bristol, TN/VA.
DeFriece currently serves on Board of Visitors of The James H. Quillen School of Medicine at ETSU in Johnson City, TN and several other business organizations in East Tennessee.
She has received numerous honors, including the “Arts In Tennessee Award” presented by International Storytelling Center and Bristol Region Medical Center’s Hall of Fame.
DeFriece attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was recognized in 2000 as an Honorary Alumni of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN and served on the King University Board of Trustees in Bristol, TN from 1994 to 2002.
