Bo Watson, born October 21, 1960 in Chattanooga, TN. Has one son, Grey.  Parents are Foy (deceased) and Doris (deceased) Watson and four sisters, Anna Watson (deceased), Suzanne Rushworth, Melissa Pierce and Debbie Gates. Bo is a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church.

Bo attended Normal Park Elementary and continued his secondary education at The Baylor School. He then went on to attend the University of the South in Sewanee and continued on to receive his BA at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduating Magna Cum Laud, and furthering his education in Physical Therapy at University of Tennessee at Memphis.

Bo is a past member of The Baylor School Board of Trustees, and Alumni Association, The University of Tennessee National Alumni Association, The University of Tennessee Chattanooga Alumni Council, the Wesley Center at University of Tennessee Chattanooga, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the YMCA North River Branch. He has been a volunteer for the American Heart Association, Junior Achievement, and Habitat for Humanity. He is currently a member of the Hamilton County Republican Party Executive Committee, the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club, the Governing Board and Fiscal Affairs & Government Operations of the Council of State Government, the Early Learning Fellow and Budget & Revenue Committee and Health Reform Task Force of the National Conference of State Legislatures, and is a member of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation.

He was first elected to the 104th General Assembly in 2004 as the representative for District 31 (Rhea County and part of Hamilton County). And then elected to the 105th General Assembly as senator in 2006 for district 11 (Hamilton County). He is currently serving in his 4th year of his third 4 year term. He was appointed to serve Speaker Pro Tempore position in 2011 and served in this position until 2016. In 2017 he was appointed to Chairman of the Finance, Ways & Means Committee, and serves on Health and Welfare Committee, Senate Rules Committee and serves as a member of Commerce and Labor Committee, Council on Pensions & Insurance among various other committees.
