TDOC to Hold Rapid Hire Event in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN – The Tennessee Department of Correction is inviting qualified applicants ready to begin a career in corrections to attend a Rapid Hire Event this weekend, September 18 & 19. Applicants can complete their interview and pre-employment requirements on-site and may receive a conditional job offer the same day.

The event will offer opportunities for Correctional Officer 1 and Correctional Officer 2 positions at three Nashville-area facilities. Correctional officers earn a starting salary of $51,204, with pay increasing to $60,720 after 18 months, and are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

The event will take place at TDOC’s Community Resource Center, located in Madison, approximately 15 minutes north of Nashville. Applicants are encouraged to preregister and submit the TDOC Rapid Hire Employment Application, but walk-ins are also welcome.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be U.S. citizens. Applicants should bring a current resume, state-issued identification, proof of their highest level of education, and their DD214, if applicable.

New correctional officers also receive six weeks of paid Basic Correctional Officer Training at the Tennessee Correction Academy. The training includes hands-on instruction in both a correctional facility and classroom setting.
