Brian E. Fazenbaker

Brian E. Fazenbaker is a retired Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and a native of Cumberland, Maryland. He is currently employed by Nissan North America as a Senior Investigator in the Ethics & Compliance Department. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA degree in Law Enforcement and received a MS degree from the University of Arkansas in Operations Management.
After graduation, Fazenbaker entered active duty as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. He obtained the rank of Captain and served throughout the United States and European Theatre.
After leaving the Air Force, Fazenbaker accepted an appointment as a Special Agent of the FBI and graduated from the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA in 1995. Fazenbaker was assigned to the Buffalo Field Office where he was a member of the Violent Crimes Task Force responsible for investigating violent crimes and worked as a member of the Special Operations Group (SOG) in support of undercover operations for investigations involving Organized Crime and Public Corruption.
In 1999, Fazenbaker transferred to the FBI’s Memphis Division; Nashville Resident Agency. He was assigned to the White-Collar Crime Squad investigating public corruption, civil rights and financial fraud violations to include illegal gambling and money laundering. He investigated numerous significant public corruption matters and has extensive experience testifying in Federal and State courts.
In 2008, Fazenbaker transferred to the Memphis Division’s Columbia RA where he was assigned as co-case agent on the firebombing of a religious facility by a group of extremists. He was the case agent on an Organized Crimes Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDEF) which targeted gang related violence and drug trafficking in Maury County, TN. The investigative efforts of Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement agencies targeted the major gang problems throughout the community and significantly reduced violent crime associated with gang violence.
Fazenbaker is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and has received specialized training from the FBI in computer forensic examinations and digital extractions. He is the current Chairman of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Society of the Former Agents of the FBI and Vice President of Lodge #41 of the Fraternal Order of Police, Franklin, TN. In 2019, he was appointed by the Lt. Gov. for the State of Tennessee as a member of the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council.
