Rich is a Tennessee Governor’s fellow. Prior to his selection, Rich served more than 30 years in the United States Army, including 28 years as a Green Beret. He rose from specialized small teams to Group-level leadership, developing and directing cross-functional teams through 11 deployments across Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, and Inherent Resolve. His Special Forces background provided him with the opportunity to develop and apply strategic planning, risk management, cross-cultural communication, and crisis management skills.

After completing a tour as the Special Forces Warrant Officer Career Advisor, Rich’s career culminated with his selection to serve as the Command Chief Warrant Officer, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

Rich is a 2016 graduate of Troy University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences. He is married to Tabitha Cook, Ed.S., who serves as an educator at Clarksville High School. Rich and Tabitha currently reside in Clarksville, Tennessee.
