Before joining the Tennessee Governor’s Veterans Fellowship Program, Bevan served a total of 24 years as an Army officer, both on Active Duty and with the Louisiana Army National Guard (Active Guard Reserve- AGR).
Prior to his retirement in August of 2025, Bevan culminated his career as the Chief of Officer Promotions and Policy for the Army within the Headquarters Department of the Army, G-1 (Director of Manpower and Personnel Management). Subsequently, he served as the Chief for Personnel Readiness at the National Guard Bureau, Deputy Human Resources Director for the Louisiana National Guard, and Commander of the 165th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.
Throughout his career, he has gained extensive leadership and operational experience in logistics, human resources, policy and program management, and strategy development. Further, he has deployed in support of Operations Joint Endeavor (Bosnia), Iraqi Freedom (Initial Invasion), and Freedom’s Sentinel (Afghanistan), amongst other state disaster response missions.
Bevan graduated and received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 1998 and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University in 2015. He is also a graduate of the Defense Strategy Course. Bevan is married to his wife of 24 years, Stacy, and has two children.
