The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) will stock community agriculture libraries at Ellington Agricultural Center (EAC) in Nashville the week of March 21-25, 2022.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Military Department is conducting a Joint Emergency Preparedness Exercise at Nashville’s Joint Forces Headquarters on 3041 Sidco Drive, from 8-11 a.m., March 22. Participants include the Tennessee National Guard, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Metro Nashville Police Department, and the Nashville Fire Department. During the exercise, the main entrance to the facility may be closed and traffic through the campus main gate may be restricted.

NASHVILLE – Two Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) Correctional Officers have been selected to receive national awards. Corporal Leon Odom and Corporal Anthony Gaudet have been selected by One Voice United to receive the National Corrections Medal of Honor Award.

A Maury County woman is charged with TennCare fraud for allegedly falsifying information provided to the state in establishing her eligibility for the program.

MARYVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announces the Maryville Driver Services Center, located at 318 Home Avenue, Maryville, Tennessee, 37801, will permanently close at 5:00 p.m. March 23. A new Driver Services Center located at 244 South Calderwood Road in Alcoa, Tennessee will open on March 28. Normal business hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A medical flight crew from the Tennessee National Guard conducted an emergency air evacuation mission after a hiker suffered a severe illness on the Appalachian Trail, Mar. 15.

Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration Commissioner Butch Eley today announced that Tennessee tax revenues exceeded budgeted estimates in February.

MEMPHIS – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is accepting applications for the first Citizens’ Academy Classes in Memphis. This first class will meet on May 10th at The Greater Imani Church; sessions will run from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Additional May classes will meet on the 10th, 17th and 24th. Classes will resume June 7th, and will meet again on the 14th, 21th and 28th.

NASHVILLE – The end of seasonal work at the start of the new year was one of the contributing factors that led to higher county unemployment rates across Tennessee in January. While statewide unemployment numbers are adjusted to consider the impacts of seasonal labor, county unemployment rates are not adjusted.
