As a safety precaution, Radnor Lake State Park has closed all pedestrian access at the South Lake and South Cove trails on the west end of the park as part of an ongoing project announced in May to make repairs to Otter Creek Road inside the park.

The Tennessee State Museum will grant out $5 million to Tennessee museums and historic sites for capital maintenance and improvement projects, the result of an appropriation the Tennessee General Assembly included for improvements to Tennessee museums in the 2025-26 Appropriations Act. Museums must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or affiliated with a governmental entity. Grant applications are open now.

During Independence Day weekend, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO), a division of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, will join Tennessee Highway Patrol and local law enforcement for “Safe on Seventy,” a campaign to increase traffic enforcement across U.S. Highway 70 statewide. U.S. Highway 70 stretches from West to East Tennessee spanning 500 miles across 21 counties, including Davidson County, Dickson, Cheatham, Wilson, Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, DeKalb, Cumberland, Roane, Loudon, Knox, Sevier, Jefferson, and more.

The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 7.50 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on June 30, 2025.
