Nashville, TN – Today, the Tennessee Department of Education (department) shared additional details on Tennesseans’ enthusiastic response to the Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) Program, which launched less than one week ago on May 15. As of Monday, more than 38,000 applications have been submitted statewide. Roughly 50 percent of scholarship applications were from families with a qualified income.

NASHVILLE – Road Construction will not delay motorists traveling Tennessee's highways this Memorial Day weekend. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes from noon on Friday, May 23, through 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27. NASHVILLE--Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Commissioner Greg Gonzales announced today that the maximum effective formula rate of interest in Tennessee is 11.50 percent per annum. The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 7.50 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on May 19, 2025.
