Tennessee Unemployment Claims Data for week ending on June 26, 2021

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nearly 3,000 Soldiers from the Tennessee Army National Guard are headed to Fort Hood, Texas, this summer for a training exercise as part of their Annual Training.

The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is inviting the public to participate virtually in developing the upcoming Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) plan. The department creates its CSBG plan every two years in conjunction with the Tennessee Association of Community Action (TACA) and its member agencies.

Tullahoma, Tenn. – The Tennessee National Guard held its annual Adjutant General Match June 25-27, at Tullahoma’s Volunteer Training Site.

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – Members of the Tennessee National Guard conducted railhead operations at Fort Campbell in preparation for their upcoming annual training.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Flex-N-Gate officials announced today that the company will expand its operations, creating 91 new jobs in Blount County.  Flex-N-Gate, an automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supplier, specializes in manufacturing plastic, metal, lighting and mechanical assemblies. The company will invest $5.5 million to upgrade and expand its Rockford manufacturing facility and increase production in lighting materials. 

JACKSON, Tenn. – On June 18, the Tennessee National Guard and the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) held the first Boss Lift since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in 2020. Soldiers with the 1/230th Assault Helicopter Battalion transported local employers from Army Aviation Support Facility #3 in Jackson to Milan’s Volunteer Training Site via UH-60 Blackhawks.

NASHVILLE – The majority of Tennessee counties recorded unemployment rates below 5% in May 2021, according to new data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced today 15 new Site Development Grants, totaling more than $4.6 million. The grants are designed to help communities achieve Select Tennessee site certification and prepare industrial sites for economic development projects. The funding helps communities invest in infrastructure and engineering improvements on project-ready sites.

Tennessee Unemployment Claims Data for week ending on June 19, 2021

MEMPHIS - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of Terrence Moss, former owner of Ace Bonding Company. The Shelby County Sherriff’s office arrested Moss, age 47, at his residence. Bond was set at $1,000.

NASHVILLE – Effective July 1, 2021, inmates in possession of a cell phone, or any telecommunications device while inside a penal institution, may be charged with a Class E Felony.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A farewell ceremony for the Tennessee National Guard’s 1957th Contingency Contracting Team was held at Nashville’s Joint Force Headquarters on June 22.
